As you enter the Sanctuary, you will be given a copy of "The Bulletin" with an order for the service, the week's calendar, upcoming events, and announcements. An online version of our last week's bulletin can be found here.
The worship service usually begins with music. The words to the music are conveniently displayed on large-screen monitors at the front of the room, but if you prefer, written copies are available from an usher. Each Sunday someone will offer a prayer, and a musical selection will be played. At some point "offering plates" will be passed down the rows. Monetary offerings are for those who call Prairie Hill their church home. You are our guest. Please do not feel obligated to participate.
A notice on the monitors will let you know when it is time for the children to go out for Children's Church and 345's. Pastor Jerry then speaks, explaining a passage from the Bible and making application to our own lives.
Communion, or "The Lord's Supper," is a Christian celebration of Jesus' sacrificial death for us. Jesus tells us in scripture to do this to remember what he did for us. It serves as a visual and physical reminder that he died for our sins. The bread that is passed and eaten represents Christ's body, which was nailed to the cross for our sins. The small cups of grape juice represent Christ's blood which was shed to pay the punishment for our sin.
Communion is served the first Sunday of every month. You do not need to be a member of our church to take communion. All who trust in Jesus as their savior are welcome to partake with us. At Prairie Hill, the bread and cup of juice are passed to the people where they sit. If you choose not to participate, simply pass these on down the row. Worship Team
Our worship team is led by Erik Sundman. The team combines traditional hymns with newer, upbeat worship music. You will hear drums, guitars, keyboards, and vocalists who lead us as we sing praise to God.
To Sum it Up
Our visitors tell us they felt welcomed and comfortable when they visited Prairie Hill. We hope you'll stop by this Sunday. If you do, please say hi to Pastor Jerry after the service. He and his wife, Rebecca, stand in the reception area following the service.
We all look forward to welcoming you to Prairie Hill!
